Opened in 2006, the Leslie L. Dan Pharmacy Building is a state-of-the-art 167,000 square foot teaching and research facility and the gateway to the University of Toronto. Equipped with over 40,000 square feet of research space and numerous lecture halls, classrooms and teaching laboratories, the building supports the academic, research and teaching needs of well over 1,300 people on a daily basis.
The growth of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy was made possible by the generous support of alumni, industry and friends, culminating with the construction of the Leslie L. Dan Pharmacy Building. Over $65 million was raised in support of the building from Government, the University, and the private sector including donations from Dr. Leslie and Anna Dan, Apotex Inc., GlaxoSmithKline Inc., Patheon Inc., Rexall PharmaPlus, Shoppers Drug Mart and many others.
Designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster, the building combines the old and the new, the functional and the spectacular, and is a fitting home for a Faculty that is at the frontier of pharmaceutical science research and education.
