Dear students,

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate the unprecedented situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak.

This message is to confirm that all experiential rotations will continue to be paused for the three week period previously communicated on March 15, 2020. This decision was made in order to protect the safety of students, preceptors and patients. It is also aligned with all other healthcare faculties at the University of Toronto.

This pause in rotations provides an opportunity to monitor the ongoing situation, identify when the time is right for rotations to continue, and where students may be able to contribute to the healthcare system’s work around COVID-19.

We appreciate the messages we have received from students and are taking requests to participate in the outbreak response very seriously. We are holding virtual meetings with preceptors early next week so that we can understand their needs going forward and engage on possible opportunities for students. We will continue to keep you informed as we progress in our plans for experiential education.

The COVID-19 outbreak has been shocking and disruptive to nearly all areas of our daily lives. Please make sure you take the time to care for yourself and your loved ones as much as possible. Do not hesitate to reach out to faculty and staff if you are in need of support and remember the resources available to you including this list provide by U of T Student Life.
