Dear Students,

Thank you for your continued patience and professionalism as we actively work toward a plan on how best to manage experiential rotations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are actively working on the plans for EPE 1, EPE 2 and our third year APPE rotations.  We plan to communicate some key decisions in the coming days which we hope will provide both reassurance and clarity as to what you can expect over the coming weeks and months as we continue to navigate through our fluid situation together.

At this time it has come to our attention that some students have not be able to get their required TB tests, vulnerable sector screens and/or other pre-rotation requirements.  This is not a problem at this time.  If you have not completed these tests you do not need to try to get them done right now.  If you have an appointment with health & wellness for a TB test you can cancel it, as it is not essential under the current circumstances.  We will work with you to facilitate completion of outstanding requirements when the time is right. In addition, you do not need to reach out to your block 1 preceptors to introduce yourselves at this time.

We appreciate the uncertainty around your placements is stressful.  We are doing our best to gather needed information quickly and devise sound plans to ensure you are able to meet the academic requirements of the program. The quality of your educational experience continues to be our top priority and we will keep you informed as plans progress.

Best regards,

Jamie Kellar,
