Henry Halapy is currently Clinical Pharmacy Specialist/Leader at St. Michael's Hospital – Unity Health Toronto and Assistant Professor – Teaching Stream at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Henry is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Pharmacy program and the Wayne State University, Doctor of Pharmacy Program in Detroit, Michigan.
Henry currently coordinates PHM 385 Diabetes Care in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and PHM 618 Education Theory and Practice in the Pharm D for Pharmacists Program. He is also the Hospital Pharmacy Residency Coordinator for the Faculty, an Education Coordinator for experiential rotations at Unity Health Toronto pharmacy department and is the coordinator of the St. Michael's Hospital – Unity Health Toronto pharmacy residency program. His area of educational scholarship focuses on field-based assessment and use of VIC (virtual interactive cases) in pharmacy education.
In his clinical role, Henry is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care and patient education to patients of the diabetes and endocrine clinics, including titration of patient’s insulin regimens in the insulin dose adjustment clinic. He also supports the care of inpatients through the design and roll-out of diabetes best practices throughout the hospital.
