Job Description

The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, invites applications for the position of Sessional Clinical Lecturer to co-coordinate the course, PHM617 – Select Topics in Social Administration, which is offered in the winter term. This contract of the PharmD for Pharmacists program is anticipated to start in November 2024 until May 2025.

This 26-hour course is designed to advance the student’s ability to provide leadership within the health care system and multiple levels (locally, provincially and nationally). This course will enhance students’ understanding of the health care system and the health care system context for pharmacy practice. Skills gained will include the ability to incorporate ethical and economic principles to analyze policy and operations to develop and evaluate programs intended to change pharmacy practice environments. All material will be delivered online with opportunities for the student to pose questions for additional learning to an expert in the field. Each lesson will incorporate active learning activities for the students to complete to facilitate knowledge and skill development. The expected enrollment for the course is 20 – 30 students.

Job Requirements

Applicants should ideally have a PharmD and/or Master’s of Education (or equivalent education and teaching experience), but at a minimum be a pharmacist licensed in a Canadian jurisdiction, and have experience working within the Canadian Health Care system. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and demonstrate a strong knowledge of the relevant topics, and, possess excellent organization and communication skills. Experience in the development and delivery of courses is an asset.
