Professor and Acting Dean Micheline Piquette-Miller welcomes students faculty and staff to a new academic year.
I am delighted to welcome you back to campus for the start a new academic year! This year, I am also thrilled to be stepping in as Acting Dean for the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, while Dean Lisa Dolovich is on a planned administrative leave, returning January 2024.
As a pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist, I look forward to supporting a smooth transition into the 2023-24 academic year, upholding the leadership of our Faculty among key pharmacy associations including the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OPC) and the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (AFPC), and maintaining momentum across our education and research programs. To help maintain a smooth transition across the faculty, a reminder that Associate Professor Sara Guilcher will be providing leadership and guidance as the Acting Associate Dean of Research.
To our newest incoming Doctor of Pharmacy students and graduate trainees: this year promises to be one of exploration, challenge, and self-discovery. You are joining one of the top-ranked faculties of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences in the world, based in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Our faculty and staff are here to help you make the most of the many exciting opportunities available to you.
As returning students, faculty, and staff come together again, I am buoyed by the passion and dedication we each bring to advancing pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, and the breadth of collaboration that makes our community unique. I wish everyone a successful start to the fall term and remember that the University has curated many helpful tips and resources for students, faculty, and staff on the UTogether portal that can be used throughout the year.
