Dear Students,
I am writing to provide an update on PharmD program course delivery for the fall term. As previously communicated in our message on July 21, we continue to plan for a transition to in-person PharmD program delivery. In that communication we had also outlined an alternate plan should that be necessary.
At this time, based on recent provincial announcements and the current public health situation in Ontario, we have had to make the difficult decision to hold lectures online until Friday, October 8. In the weeks ahead, we will re-evaluate if we will be able to transition to in-person lectures after the Thanksgiving weekend.
We will continue to plan for in-person delivery of Pharmacotherapy workshops, skills-based labs, small group tutorials, co-curricular activities and possibly lower enrollment third year elective courses. We also plan to hold exams in person. Therefore, students are expected to be on campus in September, and a remote-only option is not available.
I recognize that this may be disappointing news as we were looking forward to the possibility of a full resumption of in-person learning. As the changing nature of the pandemic continues to affect our planning, our primary goal is to prioritize the health and safety of our community while finding opportunities for in-person learning that we all value.
A further communication will follow within the next week or so with more specific details regarding course delivery in the PharmD program.
Sincerely,
Natalie Crown,
