The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy is pleased to announce Professor Micheline Piquette-Miller has accepted the appointment of Associate Dean Research.
In this role, Professor Piquette-Miller will provide strategic leadership in the implementation and refinement of our Faculty’s strategic research plan and with respect to all aspects of research activities of the Faculty, including oversight of the facilitation and coordination of all research grants and contracts.

“I am honoured to be in this position at one of the most research-intensive faculties of pharmacy in Canada,” said Professor Piquette-Miller who is also a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences. “I look forward to supporting future endeavours and strengthening collaborations across our broad areas of research in the pharmaceutical sciences.”
Professor Piquette-Miller completed a BSc. in Pharmacy and PhD in Pharmacokinetics at the University of Alberta and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. Since joining the Faculty in 1996, Professor Piquette-Miller has served in several leadership positions in addition to leading a dynamic research lab that specializes in understanding how pathophysiological conditions affect the efficacy and safety of drugs, particularly in the context of drug-disease interactions involving drug transporters.
She has published over 130 research articles and recently contributed expertise as a member of the COVID-19 Clinical Pharmacology Ad-hoc Task Force for the Public Health Agency of Canada. She is also the recipient of numerous prestigious national and international research awards including:
- The Leon Goldberg Young Investigator Award, American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT)
- Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences Fellow Award
- RX&D/Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Research Career Award
- Pfizer Research Career Award, Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AFPC)
A leader in the field of pharmacogenomics, Professor Piquette-Miller developed and coordinates PHM 360, a third-year course in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program that covers fundamental concepts and application of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice.
“Professor Piquette-Miller has strong collaborations with many colleagues across the biomolecular sciences and clinical, social administrative pharmacy divisions at our Faculty,” said Lisa Dolovich, Dean of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. “Her background in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences provides her with extraordinary understanding of the breadth of research across our enterprise.”
