Dr. Gareth Lim, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Département de médecine at the Université de Montréal and a Principal Scientist at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre (CRCHUM). He currently holds the Canada Research Chair in Adipocyte Development. Gareth obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto with Dr. Patricia Brubaker and pursued his postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia with Dr. James Johnson. Since starting his independent research position in 2016, he has been focused on exploring the roles of 14-3-3 proteins in pancreatic beta-cells and adipocytes and understanding their contributions to the development of diabetes and obesity. Research activities in the Lim lab are currently supported by CIHR and NSERC
