Dear colleagues,
As part of Canada’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Premier of Ontario declared a state of emergency and the Prime Minister has encouraged all Canadians to stay home wherever possible. In response to these announcements, the University is working to allow more employees to telecommute and to have more flex-time arrangements and has also announced the shutdown of research operations.
Please see additional information concerning our students, faculty and staff below:
Building Closure
As per the Provosts’ message sent March 17, The University remains open but encourages employees who can work from home to do so. For the University to deliver on our commitments to teaching, residences and critical research, some employees will be required to come to our campuses, and the University remains committed to their health and safety.
In follow up to yesterday’s message sent to all faculty, staff and students regarding restricting public access, the leadership team at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy has made the decision to implement further restrictions to our building.
Effective Sunday March 22 at 5pm, our Faculty buildings (including College and McCaul locations) will be closed to all fob users, and the public with the exception of those who manage critical functions identified through our business continuity planning process or those who are carrying out approved research activities. This closure will be maintained until further notice.
If you have not already done so, please make plans to gather belongings and other essential work materials over the next few days. If you need urgent access to the building and are unable to access the building within this time frame, please connect with Tina Harvey-Kane, our Director of Facilities Management directly to arrange an alternative.
