Dear Students,
The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto continues to proactively address academic continuity in the fluid situation emerging as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In these exceptional circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to pause our International Pharmacy Graduate (IPG) Program originally planned to begin on April 13, 2020.
Due to the rapidly evolving environment and escalating government restrictions on travel into and out of the Greater Toronto Area and social distancing requirements, we have decided to defer the April 2020 cohort intake to September 2020.
This decision was made in coordination with senior leadership including the IPG Academic Leads, our Dean and Interim Director, Professional Programs and the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. We have been in consultation about this decision with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
What are the next steps for you? There are various options you can pursue:
- Defer your admission to the IPG program to September 2020:
For students who choose to defer you will not need to re-apply. You will be automatically transferred to the Fall 2020 Program.
- Withdraw your admission to the IPG program
Students that withdraw will receive a full refund. Please email the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) at learn@utoronto.ca and use the subject line IPG: CPS 1 Spring 2020 and request the refund. Students will receive a full refund including the application fee within 5 to 10 business days. For students that withdraw you will need to contact the School of Continuing Studies team at learn@utoronto.ca to reapply should you wish to do so in the future. A SCS staff member will assist you with the process.
In addition, your English Proficiency Scores will remain valid for up to one year from the original expiry date to allow you time to fulfill the remaining registration requirements.
We know that this pause will be disappointing to many of you, but we are dedicated to helping you navigate your academic and professional pathway throughout this pandemic. We will keep you informed of any new developments over the ensuing weeks and months ahead.
On behalf of our Faculty, thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by e-mail at learn@utoronto.ca
Thank you.
