In 2003, Jessica completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Microbiology from the University of Toronto, and then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto in 2007. Following this, she completed a Hospital Residency at London Health Sciences Centre and accepted a position at Victoria Hospital as a pediatric pharmacist and then in 2011, as the pharmacist for the Cardiac Care Unit at University Hospital. With the hope of advancing her clinical practice and further exploring both research and teaching, Jessica is currently completing her Master’s of Science in Pharmacy degree at the University of Toronto with a clinical focus in addictions at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
A Pharmacist-led Cannabis Consultation Service at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre – Implementation, Patient Population, and Outcomes
Presenter: Maria Marchese
Maria Marchese is a pharmacist who obtained her entry level PharmD from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed a hospital residency at Kingston General Hospital and later worked as a clinical pharmacist at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre while maintaining a practice in community pharmacy and long term care settings. In January 2020, she relocated to pursue the Master of Science in Pharmacy program in adult oncology under the supervision of Carlo DeAngelis. Her research project involves investigating perceptions of cancer patients referred for medical cannabis use at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre.
