Getting Started/New Students

Please visit the School of Graduate Studies’ website for useful information for the new incoming students at First Steps for New Students.

All students must register in the program by either paying or deferring their tuition. Please see Registration Procedure for more information.

TCard, UTORid & UTmail+

The TCard is your campus ID card, which provides access to services and facilities such as Blackboard, libraries, athletic facilities, exams, meal plans, printing services, and more. Once students have their TCard, they are also able to enable their UTORid, U of T email address, and access U of T WiFi.

Students must activate their UTORid, which is your key to a number of services, including a UTmail+ (e-mail) address. All official correspondence from the University will be sent to your UTmail+ address.

Course Enrolment

Once students are registered, they can enrol in courses through the ACORN. Students requesting PHM courses can do so themselves on the Student Web Service. Students requesting courses offered through another department must submit an Add/Drop Course form with the appropriate signatures (student, supervisor, course instructor, host department’s chair or coordinator) to Seemin Qureshi in the Graduate Office. For more information on the Student Web Service and course enrolment, please review Course Enrolment.

Graduate Students Funding

Funding letters will be available for all graduate students by August 31st of each year.
