Professor Dolovich joins our growing Centre for Practice Excellence, which is uniquely positioned to address the issues impacting the future of healthcare by providing the opportunity to unleash the potential of pharmacy. Built on the core objective of patient-focused care, the Centre equips students and practitioners with the necessary skills to maximize their clinical expertise while enhancing quality of care and improving patient outcomes in a cost effective manner.
As Professor Dolovich transitions to the University of Toronto, she will also continue her key leadership roles in in several projects for research programs that will remain centred at McMaster University in the Departments of Family Medicine (DFM) such as Health TAPESTRY, and the Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program (CHAP). She will also continue to co-lead the Ontario Pharmacy Evidence Network (OPEN) from her new base in Toronto. This will ensure a smooth transition between institutions and serve as a catalyst to build robust collaborations between colleagues at Department of Family Medicine, McMaster University, the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo, and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto.
Professor Dolovich is the PI (or co-PI) on over $10 million in research grants. Her research program explores “approaches that better weave pharmacists and others within the community based health care system to create a better care experience and improve health for individuals living at home and develop community pharmacies delivery of person-focused care and connection to the rest of the health care system.”
Professor Dolovich’s accomplishments have been greatly influenced by her formal training in health research methodology (MSc) and pharmacist practice (BScPhm, PharmD), her research fellowship in clinical pharmacology, and practice in community, hospital, ambulatory care, and Family Health Team settings. She has published over 147 peer reviewed articles, many as first/senior author, including some highly cited papers in CMAJ and BMJ, as well as many in the top journals in the fields of pharmacy practice, family medicine, interprofessional care, and implementation science, which demonstrates both the depth and breadth of her work.
Welcome to the Faculty, Professor Dolovich.
