Naomi Steenhof


Naomi’s clinical practice is in chronic pain at the Complex Integrated Pain Program (CIPP) at the University Health Network. She has a particular interest and expertise in medication management, tapering opioids, and deprescribing medication for older adults who are suffering from chronic pain.

Naomi’s clinical area of research is the use of buprenorphine-naloxone therapy for patients with chronic pain. Her education research includes exploring instructional design strategies to prepare students for future learning. One particular instructional design strategy, productive failure, was the focus of her Master’s thesis in Health Professions Education.

Naomi coordinates two courses in the PharmD program: PHM305H1 – Medication Therapy Management 4 & PHM352H1 – Pharmacotherapy in Older Adults.
