Dr. Kathy Vu graduated from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Toronto where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. She later went on to complete a hospital residency and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Kathy’s area of specialization is in oncology with a focus on quality improvement and medication safety. She practiced as a clinical pharmacy practitioner for 12 years at St. Michael’s Hospital and is now at Cancer Care Ontario as the provincial Clinical Lead, Safety Initiatives. Provincially, Kathy has led guideline development around antiemetics, growth colony stimulating factors, safe handling of oral chemotherapy and regimen review best practice processes. Kathy is a guest lecturer and Teaching Associate at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. She is also the Academic Director for the Oncology Program and a coordinator for Patient Care Skills and Self Care courses of the International Pharmacy Graduate Program with the Continuous Professional Development program at the Faculty.
