Job Description

The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, invites applications for the position of Sessional Clinical Lecturer to coordinate the course, PHM652 – Contemporary Topics in Primary Care, which is offered in the summer term. This contract of the PharmD for Pharmacists program is anticipated to run from March 1 to September 30, 2025. 

Job Requirements

This 26-hour course is designed to advance the student’s knowledge and skills in the management of common topics encountered in an integrated primary care practice through a focus on selected topics and their management. The course will be case based with topics representing commonly encountered diseases (e.g. asthma, COPD, depression, anxiety, trans health, pain, diabetes etc) allowing the student to further develop their pharmacotherapy knowledge to be able to manage complex patients. Students will demonstrate their pharmaceutical care skills as they progress through the course. All material will be delivered online with opportunities for the student to pose questions for additional learning to an expert in the field. Each lesson will incorporate active learning activities for the students to complete to facilitate knowledge and skill development. The expected enrollment for the course is 10 – 30 students.

Applicants should ideally have a PharmD and/or Masters of Education (or equivalent education/experience). The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching, a strong knowledge of the relevant topics, and possess excellent organization and communication skills. Current or past experience working in a primary care team and experience in the development and delivery of courses are considered assets.
