Hospital Pharmacy residencies in Ontario are co-ordinated by the Hospital Pharmacy Residency Forum of Ontario (HPRFO). The accredited residency programmes follow the standards and guidelines of the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board (CPRB). Individual programs are usually affiliated with one of the academic pharmacy programs in Ontario, including the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. Generally, the Residency is a one year programme starting between July and September. The purpose of the Residency is to produce skilled Pharmacy practitioners and future leaders.
Applications for the Ontario Hospital Residency programs are coordinated via a centralized application process. The Pharmacy Residency Application and Matching Service is operated by the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP).
Those interested in a hospital residency should review this section of the CSHP site: https://cshp.ca/residency before applying. Links within this page provide details for all accredited programs. Each program offers unique approaches to Pharmacy practice, while aligning with common standards.
