The government of Ontario has leveraged community pharmacist expertise in medication management, including communicating with prescribers regarding drug therapy-related problems. The Pharmaceutical Opinion program is a reimbursable service implemented in 2011 and is an intervention focused on pharmacist identification of a medication-related concern, either during a MedsCheck or when dispensing a prescription.

Below, you will find interactive charts exploring longitudinal data related to Pharmaceutical Opinion program services, a program in which pharmacists communicate with prescribers regarding drug therapy-related problems.

Three main indicators were selected, and are represented in the interactive atlas tool as distinct tabs for each service:

  1. Trends: Trends in the number of monthly claims by region and outcome.
  2. Age & Sex: Crude counts and rates by age-group and sex.
  3. Maps: Choropleth maps representing regional summaries of standardized rates.
